There is some crazy statistic out telling a freakishly high number of minutes we spend waiting…
Not a fan of waiting..
Especially with toddlers…
This morning we spent 20 minutes to see a doctor in the patient room…
Then we spent 2 hours & 45 minutes waiting in the pharmacy drive-threw for them to call the perception in. (insert annoyed mom face).
And then the morning was gone.
But waiting sometimes is unfortunately inevitable.
Here are 5 Things to do while you wait.
5. Look at pictures on your phone.
If you are great at uploading pictures off your phone (I’m not) or you don’t take a lot, I would recommend picking a random person to Facebook stalk, or google image almost anything works also.
Books aren’t always present, when this arises we will just make up a story, retell their favorite story, let them tell a story, or just tell a story from when someone was younger.
3. Color / Draw.
Yes you may not have the coloring book and crayons on hand… but you may be able to find a paper towel, piece of paper (used or unused), napkin, newspaper… and if you don’t have a writing utensil handy most people don’t mind sharing.
2. Play I spy.
We play several different versions of this classic game.
- The traditional version (I spy, with my little eye something that is…. (insert color here)…)
- Eye spy in a book
- I spy using specific items ( book, tractor, animal etc. ) this works awesome with younger kids who don’t quite know their colors yet.
1. Listen to a Podcast
Yes a podcast. Whether you are solo, or with 3 crazy toddlers there is something out there for you.
